Nethanyahu Is Wrong About Biblical Right to Jerusalem

Benjamin Nethanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, is wrong about Jews haven been given Jerusalem as their capital more than 3000 years ago. God promised Abraham in the Old Testament the land of Canaan for himself and his seeds (descendants)" forever". However, this promise by God has still not been fulfilled, and the Bible indicates it will only be honoured when Jesus Christ returns to the earth,  sets up the Kingdom of God and resurrects Abraham.

The land of Canaan encompasses  a much larger area than Israel: it included Lebanon, Jordan and a big portion of Iraq. For the same reasons as Israel has no right to march into modern day Jordan and declare it their territory because it was  historically given to the Jews, they have no exclusive right to Jerusalem because God's promise in this respect still remains outstanding.
